Annoying man

What do you do when you have one child who just annoys the heck out of you in everything he does?

I'm not going to pretend it could possibly be Z, so we are just going to use the masculine pronoun here.

Seriously, every time said child opens his mouth, my ears bleed and I want to scream. Every time he thinks he's done something cute and funny, I want to send him to his room. I have to seriously psych myself up for my time with him. And I know all he wants is my attention.

How does one get over such a problem?

Well I have an annoying 13 year old that is constantly making noises, fidgeting, tapping, clicking his tongue, clearing his throat, among many many other things. I just remind him he's doing it and say "KNOCK IT OFF! Do you have ANY idea how annoying that is?" I'm sure I'm going about it all wrong, but it's working... LOL

I wish I had a great answer for you, but I think most likely it's a phase that you just sort of get through. I love both of my children, but there have been certain phases with both of them that have been hard to get through, but so far we have gotten through. I'll email you!

Maybe you could figure out how he feels loved and do that more. For my son he likes it when I rub his back. So I promised him that I'd give him a back rub EVERY SINGLE DAY from now on (at bedtime). I also try to really listen to him instead of thinking about everything else. These things help both of us stay happy and sane. When he feels loved he's more loving.
I don't if this helps your situation but it sounds like he feels neglected to some degree.

If this said child is doing the same things my same aged child is doing, I vote for muzzles and straight jackets.

I just tell my kids to stop it and now. They usually do otherwise they lose something they value. If it is the child you are fostering, I would simply tell him that he needs to look at how the older boys are acting and try to act more like them. If that doesn't work, just go to the SPA. You heard me, drop all 4 kiddos in your husbands lap and take off for a few hours to regenerate. Good luck.
